Thank you very much for visiting the Helen Frank-Roush Memorial Scholarship website. Beginning in 2005, a college scholarship has been awarded on annual basis to a faculty-nominated graduating female senior from Ripley Union Lewis Huntington (RULH) High School in memory of Helen Frank-Roush, a 1931 graduate of the very same institution. Helen was among the first women to graduate from Ripley High School and also to attend college. Later, after graduating from Ohio Dominican College, she returned to the Brown and Adams County region where she lived and worked for the remainder of her life.
The purpose of this scholarship is not only to remember the significance of Helen Frank-Roush’s contributions to the communities in which she lived and served, but also to help successive generations of graduates continue their education at a higher level. Given the opportunity, Helen believed that individuals could further their education, improve their own circumstances, and return this investment to the community.
Please take the time to browse this website and learn more about the life of Helen Frank-Roush, a woman of great importance to so many people in Southwestern Ohio. In addition, you will find the guidelines for the scholarship, as well as a form where you can submit nominees. Click here to see all winners of the Helen Frank-Roush Scholarship.
